    Is Ovalight run by a government?

    No. Ovalight is an independent service and is not affiliated with any government. We help you make a photo that follows the published rules for your document. Only the authority that issues your document decides whether to accept it.

    Is my photo uploaded?

    No. Processed on your device. Never uploaded to our servers. The Studio does all the work on your phone or computer. You can test it with airplane mode. Only if you ask us to email your files or save them in your optional account do we receive the finished photo; saved photos are deleted after 90 days.

    What if my photo is rejected?

    Photo Acceptance Guarantee — rejected for a technical reason we check? We refund you. If an authority rejects your photo for its size, head size or position, background, or file size, we refund what you paid.

    Do you remove or replace the background?

    No. Several authorities reject photos with an edited or replaced background, so the Studio guides you to a plain, light wall and good light, then only crops and resizes your photo.

    Can I print the photo at home?

    For most documents, yes: print the sheet at 100% (Actual size), never "Fit to page", and check it with the 50 mm ruler on the sheet. A few documents, such as Australian and Turkish passports, need a photo-lab print; the document page tells you.

    Which documents do you cover?
