Frequently asked questions
How many passport photos fit on a 4×6 sheet?
8 photos of 35×45 mm, or 2 photos of 2×2 in, with the 2 mm cutting gaps we always keep.
Can I print passport photos at home?
For many documents, yes: print on photo paper at 100% and check the 50 mm ruler. Some documents need a photo-lab print, and some only accept a digital photo or one taken at the office, such as German passports and ID cards. The page for your document tells you.
How do I print at the right size?
Open the PDF or JPEG and print at 100% ("Actual size"); turn off "Fit to page" and borderless scaling. Then measure the 50 mm ruler: if it is 50 mm, every photo has the right size.
Can I print at a pharmacy, photo kiosk or online print service?
Yes. Choose the paper the shop prints, such as 4×6 in or 10×15 cm, and order one print of the JPEG without cropping or "fill".
Is there an A4 or Letter template?
Yes. Choose A4 or Letter as the paper: the sheet holds more copies, with cut lines and the 50 mm ruler, so you can print it on an ordinary printer.
Does this tool check my photo?
No. It only lays out the photo you give it. To check head size, background and the other rules, use the Passport photo checker, or make a new photo in the Studio.
